Parish Nurses

Parish Nurse: Joy Appel

A Parish Nurse is your friend in healthcare. Partners with you in caring for your body, mind and spirit. Can help in times of illness. Is there during all stages of life. Meets you where you are. Identifies helpful resources. Uses his or her spiritual gifts and professional training. Works closely with clergy. Is one of 10,000 nurses practicing in the United States and around the world. Is recognized by the American Nurses Association as a nursing specialty. Is also called a Faith Community Nurse and serves all faiths. At Wesley Chapel  Parish Nurse, Joy Appel and Health Minister, Denise Schneider share the Parish Nurse responsibilities. They offer blood pressure screening after the 8:30 and  11:00 AM service the first Sunday of the month. " Back Door Reading" posted monthly on our web site under the info center with helpful wellness information that is useful for each church member.
